“Polly and Her Magical Hat”

­­­Creating a character for a story can be fun and exciting, and a little scary because there is a lot to consider.

 “Polly and Her Magical Hat” is a charming story about a little girl. The adventure of the little girl “POLLY” transfers a strong message for kids ages four to eight. 

The writer contacted me about her children’s story; after reading the manuscript, I created a four-year-old little girl called Polly. Like other projects for me, I studied the end of the story, then started at the beginning. First, I considered the target audience, who they are, what they like, and which size of the book attracts them. Then, which kind of illustration technique attracts them. Then I created the character. I lived with POLLY for three months, both days and nights. I engaged with the story and enjoyed illustrating it. Next, I considered the layout while I continued working on the illustration. Finally, I made the whole book ready for printing and delivered it to the lovely author,’ Hema Rajawat. It was a pleasure to work with her.
